People thinking about a career in teaching will soon be able use the social networking website Facebook to get in touch with practising teachers.

The TDA has launched a video campaign on YouTube to show that science lessons can be fun, in a bid to recruit more science teachers.

New maths and literacy leadership awards have been launched by Sports Leaders UK.
Continuing professional development (CPD)
The TDA has launched an online database, the first of its kind in England, to provide a single source of information to schools on CPD provision across the country.

Thanks to a new online game, pupils from Blackburn are the top number crunchers in the UK – and second worldwide.

Rock lessons have boosted the popularity of GCSE music by 40 per cent, according to an evaluation by London University's Institute of Education.
