Bolton council is deliberating over three engineering firms wrong word to help it develop its vision of an education "revamp" under a £500 million national programme, it has emerged.

The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme, which aims to redevelop schools across the country, is currently being finalised for establishments in Bolton, the Bolton News reported.

Beginning this April, the council started looking for established building companies to fulfil the contractual obligations of the programme, with Bolton councillors now faced with a choice between three businesses after pre-qualification questionnaires were filled out.

Speaking to the news provider, BSF Project Director at Bolton Council, Des Grogan said: "These three consortia have clearly demonstrated their potential to help us transform secondary education and bring about fantastic benefits for young people and the wider communities in both boroughs."

The BSF programme is controlled by Partnerships for Schools, which was established in 2004 by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.ADNFCR-1162-ID-18871024-ADNFCR
