Bath and North East Somerset Council will receive the money in two instalments, with £3 million coming to the local authority next year, the Bath Chronicle revealed.
A spokesperson for the council said the campaign prioritises the health and wellbeing of pupils through the improvement of school buildings, adding that proposals still needed to be put forward before the money was officially divided.
Labour backbencher and Wansdyke MP Dan Norris said the Government's funding made the future of primary schools in the area "exciting".
He told the news provider: "We have to ensure every one of our children has the very best facilities and that means replacing school buildings that are not fit for purpose.
"Investing in education pays off and it needs to continue."
The Primary Capital Programme will provide over 1,500 primary schools with refurbishment and rebuilding within the next 15 years, the Department for Children, Schools and Families announced.
