Making the step up from deputy headteacher to the head role at Bidford Primary School, Andy Simms told the Evesham Journal that he relished the challenges ahead.
Having worked in three other village schools in the area, he told the news provider that it seemed to be a natural progression for him to continue his professional career at Bidford.
Mr Simms continued: "I am a great enthusiast for a creative curriculum and have the energy and tenacity to promote high standards and to deal with the challenges facing primary education."
Currently, the new headteacher has been involving the school in a research project with the Government to introduce ICT to record the progress of his pupils.
Last month, the Redditch Advertiser told of Bidford's involvement in the fourth West Warwickshire Schools Under 11 Tag Rugby Festival in which Welford Primary School beat Dunnington in the final, 6-4.
