A primary school in the East Midlands has unveiled a refurbishment which eases access for disabled pupils and provides new ICT facilities, it has been reported.

Derbyshire county council invested £237,000 into the project at Langley Mill Junior School, also gaining support from private developer Wheeldon Brothers which put a further £88,000 towards the initiative, according to the Ripley and Heanor News.

Councillor Alan Charles, the local authority's cabinet member for schools, said the council was "delighted" to have invested in the project, which will benefit both pupils and teaching staff alike.

Headteacher Linda Burgess agreed with his sentiments and said: "Our new look school is a big hit with pupils, parents and staff and we're delighted to have this additional space so we can offer our children the best learning opportunities."

Derbyshire county council states that it treats each school separately due to their individual strengths and weaknesses, encouraging links between other schools and the community at large.ADNFCR-1162-ID-18892688-ADNFCR
