David Walker, the joint headteacher of Edington and Shapwick School, joined the establishment in 1983 and most recently celebrated a great set of GCSE results, according to the Bridgwater Mercury.
It was noted by the newspaper that his work with dyslexic children was particularly great, with himself and fellow headteacher Jon Whittock helping thousands during their tenure.
Mr Walker said that he was supported by a committed and dedicated team of teachers and support staff and was looking forward to helping more children with their learning in the future.
He told the news provider: "I am so proud of the pupils' success which is all the more impressive considering the challenges they face and always keen to hear their news after they have left the school."
Last week, Rufforth Primary School in York was congratulated for its dedication to supporting children with dyslexia after it was given the Dyslexia Friendly Schools Award by the City of York council, according to the York Press.
