We are actively involved in the issue of e-safety, as highlighted by the Byron review in March 2008. In association with Microsoft and Becta, we supported Childnet International in the development of Know IT All for Teachers.
The resource is designed to help teachers, trainee teachers and adults working with children to understand and address the e-safety issues which affect children.
It builds on the success of Know IT All for Parents which, in its first six months, was distributed by schools to over a million parents.
- The Know IT All for Teachers microsite provides useful information on e-safety
- E-safety leaflets for adults working with children in schools can be downloaded from Childnet International
The possibility of raising e-safety awareness in the primary sector is currently being explored. Along with our partners, we will be working closely on this project with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
